A JOURNEY OF HEALING AND EMPOWERMENT
In the heart of Arkansas, Raquel Green’s story unfolds – a tale of resilience, healing, and the transformative power of nature. A certified herbalist, mother of two, and a survivor of a life-threatening heart condition, Raquel’s journey is not just her own but a beacon of hope for many.
In 2013, Raquel faced a harrowing health crisis. After enduring open-heart surgery due to a mitral valve prolapse and multiple heart murmurs, she found herself at a cross- roads. Her path to recovery was fraught with challenges, including misdiagnoses and a brush with cardiac arrest. It was during these trials that Raquel’s resolve was tested, and her true journey began.
Raquel’s ordeal started with repeated visits to her primary care physician, where her concerns about her heart were met with skepticism. Misunderstood and misdiagnosed with depression, she was referred to a psychiatrist. However, her condition worsened, leading to a dire emergency. With a blood pressure reading of 180/210, Raquel was on the brink of cardiac arrest. This crisis led to immediate heart surgery, a turning point in her life.
Post-surgery, Raquel embarked on a transformative journey. Embracing a holistic approach, she turned to organic foods, alkaline water, and began cultivating her own herbs. Her apartment in Arkansas transformed into a sanctuary of healing, with flower pots of herbs adorning her terrace. This newfound passion for herbalism led her to the Herbal School of Chestnut, where she formalized her knowledge and skills.
The results of Raquel’s lifestyle overhaul were nothing short of miraculous. At her post-op visit, her cardiologist was astounded. The scar tissue in her heart had healed, her blood pressure normalized, and her overall vitality improved. This per- sonal victory was a testament to the power of natural healing and self-advocacy.
Today, Raquel is more than a survivor; she is a guide and a healer. With over 35 private clients, her practice, Tree of Bayou Baby Holistic Remedies LLC, offers a range of services from meal prep to spiritual wellness. Her approach is holistic, address- ing the mind, body, and spirit. Raquel’s mantra, “Start with your eyes and end with your mouth,” encapsulates her philosophy of surrounding oneself with nurturing elements and being mindful of what we consume.
Raquel’s deep connection to herbalism is rooted in her formative years, growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana. While she was raised amidst the vibrant culture of the city, it was her summers spent in the Bayou, particularly in New Iberia, that deeply influenced her path. There, under the nurturing guidance of her beloved grandmother, Emma, Raquel learned the art of gar- dening and natural healing. These invaluable lessons, imparted in the lush, green surroundings of the Bayou, laid the ground- work for what would become her life’s passion and work.
Her story is not just about overcoming adversity but about the importance of listening to one’s body and advocating for one’s health. Raquel’s journey underscores the significance of preventive care and the power of natural remedies. Her message is clear: health is invaluable, and we must nurture it with every tool available to us.
Raquel Green’s story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the healing power of nature. It’s a story of a mother’s love, a survivor’s fight, and a healer’s mission. Through her journey, Raquel teaches us that in the face of adversity, we have the power to heal, to transform, and to thrive.
